Registration on the Commission Meeting - ICA Commission on Maps and the Internet is open! Please use this web form. The registration process will be closed on August 10, 2013.
To registrate your paper, poster or workshop please follow the Abstract Submission Form. Deadline for submission was changed to May 30, 2013.
We will not be asking for formal papers to be submitted until we are able to get enough abstracts to warrant pursuing the publication of them in book format through the ICA’s publishing partner Springer.

About meeting
The meeting of ICA Commission on Maps and the Internet will be focused on the presentation of all activities related to an interconnection of maps and other cartographic products (e.g. data visualization, virtual globes etc.) and Internet (including questions of social media, web services, standards, licences, Open Data etc.).
Venue

About organizers
Studies of Geomatics have been founded in 1995 at the Faculty of Applied Sciences of the University of West Bohemia in Plzen (the Czech Republic). But a teaching of geo-related sciences has longer history at our university. It was Czech cartographer Jiří Pyšek, who had founded studies of mathematical cartography at the Faculty of Education in 1991. The University of West Bohemia was established by the Act of the Czech National Council No. 314/1991 Coll. in 1991 through the merger of the Institute of Technology and the Faculty of Education. At the time of its foundation the University had five faculties -the Faculty of Applied Sciences, the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, the Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering and about 4,200 students. The original five faculties were joined by the Faculty of Law in 1993, the Faculty of Philosophy and Arts (former Faculty of Humanities) in 1999 and Faculty of Health Care Studies in 2008. At present the University has eight faculties with more than 60 departments and three institutes of higher education. Nearly 19,000 students can choose from a wide range of Bachelor, Master and PhD study programmes.
